We analyse the components in ionic form using the integrated Metrohm 940 Professional IC Vario system in combination with the 930 Compact IC Flex. The ion chromatography method used allows the separation of multiple ions and their further detection. Due to the fact that chemical suppression reduces the background conductivity (baseline noise) a high sensitivity of the technique can be achieved and trace or ultra trace concentrations of analytes can be determined (determination range at PPB level). In this type of analysis we are looking for information about the purity of the compound and the ionic composition of the sample under testing.
